ARRI / ZEISS Master Anamorphic Primes
A joint collaboration between ARRI and ZEISS, the Master Anamorphic lenses are an anamorphic counterpart to the Master Prime lenses. Master Anamorphic’s are known for their near-perfect image quality, with no breathing and minimal anamorphic characteristics common in most anamorphic lenses. This perfect image quality limits their anamorphic flare and bokeh characteristics. If those characteristics are desired, the Master Anamorphics have a Flare Module that can be installed to accentuate those effects, producing a more natural anamorphic look.

Caldwell Chameleon XC Series Anamorphic Primes
The Caldwell Chameleon Anamorphic prime lenses offer a retro anamorphic look with modern mechanics. The entire 1.79x squeeze set, 48mm, 60mm, 75mm, 90mm, 112mm, & 150mm will cover full frame sensors and offer the traditional optical aberrations and flare characteristics unique to front anamorphic lenses. The Chameleon Primes employ a Stokes focus system that creates a fairly unique focusing experience compared to many other anamorphic primes. The aesthetic result is the compression of the subject in the vertical plane only. This creates an artistic “attention pull” without creating a “zoom” effect as well. Also, this system helps maintain a constant anamorphic compression across the entire field of view. This more uniform compression helps reduce the “mumps syndrome” that occurs in many other anamorphic lens designs. The complete set can also be converted to Super 35 coverage for cinematographers hoping to capture more edge aberration and optical character on smaller formats.

Cooke 1.8x Full Frame Plus Anamorphic Primes
Cooke’s full frame anamorphic prime’s feature a 1.8x squeeze factor to allow these lenses to fully cover large format sensors like those found in the ALEXA LF and Sony Venice. These lenses produce Cookes warm color pallet with unique anamorphic effects caused by the uncommon squeeze factor. They also feature the Cooke i/Data protocol for sending lens metadata to the camera system.

Elite Anamorphic Primes
The Elites are Russian lenses produced in the late 20th century as a spiritual successor to older Russian anamorphic lenses. While they can be considered vintage in their coatings and look, their housings are more modern in design. These lenses are well known for their extreme anamorphic flare effects, and mild distortion at the wider focal lengths, which give them a character unlike other anamorphic lenses on the market today.

Hawk C-Series Anamorphic Primes
The C-Series are some of the first sets of Hawk lenses produced by Vantage back in the 90’s. They’re compact form factor makes them easier to work with than some anamorphic lenses. They’re softer than more modern anamorphics while still providing enough sharpness to render a scene and render beautiful skin tones. Their anamorphic focus effects and flares are particularly appealing, as they emulate much older anamorphic designs without the flaws inherent in vintage lenses.

Hawk V-Lite Anamorphic Primes
Vantage’s V-Lite series offer similar optical characteristics to the V-Series in a compact, lightweight package geared toward steadicam, hand held, and remote applications. They offer a more robust housing, improved optics, and perfected anamorphic characteristics. The V-Lites are the natural evolution of anamorphic lenses and maintain some of the classic elements of the anamorphic format while also introducing modern design techniques to make them easier to work with and more optically precise.

Hawk V-Lite Vintage '74 Anamorphic Primes
The Vintage ’74 Hawk V-Lites are a revised version of the original Hawk V-Lite Lenses. The ‘74’s feature a vintage coating style that greatly accentuates the anamorphic effects and flares of the lenses, making them perform more like vintage anamorphics from an older era. The housings of the V-Lite 74’s are functionally identical to the standard Hawk V-Lites.

Kowa Anamorphic Primes
Originating in Japan in the 1970’s, the 2x Kowa Anamorphic Lenses are limited in focal lengths, but particularly unique in their size, design, and optical characteristics. They feature traditional vintage anamorphic characteristics such as long horizontal flares and large oval bokeh. A wide angle adapter may be attached to the 40mm to convert it to a 32mm equivalent.

The Lomo Anamorphics are Russian lenses that date back to the 1970’s. Lomo’s are well known in the business for exhibiting messy and unique anamorphic and optical effects. Nikkor Telephoto Anamorphic Primes
The 400mm Nikkor Telephoto Anamorphic is a Nikkor Prime Telephoto Lens that has been modified with an anamorphic rear. This will not produce anamorphic bokeh due to the location of the iris in relation to the anamorphic optic in this conversion. The lens produces a very clean anamorphic image with minimal flares.
