Exploring globe-trotting action, international camera support, and the Ancient Optics TAMASHII lenses behind episodes one and two.

With all episodes of THE TERMINAL LIST Season 2 now streaming on Prime Video, we sat down with cinematographer Checco Varese, ASC, AMPAS and director Paul Cameron, ASC, DGA, AMPAS for an exclusive video deep dive into the making of the series' opening two episodes.

Based on Jack Carr’s novel True Believer, the second season follows former Navy SEAL James Reece as he is pulled back into the crosshairs of global intelligence. Cornered by the CIA, Reece embarks on a mission to stop a resurgent terrorist threat, navigating a conspiracy that stretches from Moscow to Langley - and deep into his own past.

Bringing this relentless narrative to the screen required an ambitious, globe-trotting footprint that spanned five countries. To meet the demanding logistical and aesthetic requirements of this production, Keslow Camera was proud to provide international camera and lens packages to support Checco, Paul, and their camera teams every step of the way.

Dialing in the Look: Ancient Optics TAMASHII

In our extended interview, Checco and Paul discuss the visual grammar established in the first two episodes, the collaborative dynamic between director and cinematographer on high-stakes action sequences, and the specific optical qualities they searched for when building their packages.

Central to the look of the series was their selection of Ancient Optics TAMASHII lenses. Designed to deliver expressive character, unique flare attributes, and nuanced organic rendering while maintaining modern mechanical reliability, the TAMASHII glass gave the filmmakers the precise textural edge required for Reece's worldwide journey.
