The Statera lenses are large format 1.5x anamorphics, designed with brand-new optical elements crafted specifically for this series. Behind each anamorphic group sits a vintage taking lens, contributing to the distinct look, but the focus is on their innovative modern design. Drawing inspiration from anamorphic lenses like Cineovision, JDC, and Nipponscope, the Stateras use a variable diopter focusing mechanism that inherently minimizes distortion. The oval bokeh is uniquely pronounced at the edges due to the field curvature of the vintage taking lens, making the 1.5x squeeze resemble the character of a 2x squeeze. While they nod to vintage aesthetics, the Stateras are built for modern durability and sharpness, housed in robust, modern casings.
