STATERA Anamorphic Primes - Ancient Optics
The Stateras are large format 1.5x anamorphic lenses built from a variety of vintage lenses. Featuring modern housings and a beautiful image that is akin to Todd-AO, Cineovision, Technovision, and Nippon Scope lenses, the Stateras have beautiful oval bokeh with single layer coatings which produce a natural flare that feels less modern and highly saturated. The focusing mechanism minimizes “mumps,” so that faces retain their natural shape during focusing. While the lenses are vintage in their nature, they still retain sharpness very well, and their housings are modern and robust when compared to older anamorphic housings.
